He dances and announces at the powwows full-time but previously served on his tribal council back in the 80’s. He was a presidential appointee to President Bill Clinton's transition team and served as Aberdeen area vice president for the National Congress of American Indians. In addition, he served as a consultant for the Smithsonian before the opening of the National Museum of American Indians. He, along with Wallace Coffey helped coordinate the powwow on the national mall. Fiddler said he first started announcing back in the 70s when people would ask him to announce giveaways or other special events. He has served as head staff at different powwows all over the Indian country since then and has won 14 world championships in traditional dancing.
